Bereavement Counselling Support Service - Victoria

The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) is funded by the Victorian Government to operate a state-wide Bereavement Counselling and Support Service (BCSS) for Victoria. Services include counselling, support groups, clinical supervision, secondary consultation, workplace and organisational support, and resources. BCSS counselling and support groups are free to all Victorian clients. The BCSS charges fees for provision of clinical supervision and appointments for secondary consultation to other practitioners. Fees for these services are as follows:

Clinical Supervision/Secondary Consultation	Rate per hour
Clinical Supervision provided face to face, by telephone or on-line	$150 inclusive of GST
Secondary consultation provided face to face, by telephone or on-line	$160 inclusive of GST
Online group supervision group supervision for up to 5 participants per group @ 90 minutes per session	$540 inclusive of GST for 6 sessions

 

On request, community support sessions can be booked by employers, organisations, schools and community groups to provide bereavement support sessions for groups of up to 20 participants. Fees for these services are as follows:

Community Bereavement Support Session	Rate per hour
Critical response support sessions for groups up to 20 participants	$330 inclusive of GST   $110 travel cost, pro rata

BCSS counselling support is available via telehealth or telephone to interstate clients for the following fee for service rate:

Interstate Telehealth/Telephone Counselling Fees	Rate per hour
Individual counselling provided by telephone or online	*$100 inclusive of GST

 
* Please note, fees are waived nationally for clients seeking bereavement support resulting from COVID-19 related deaths.

National Aged Care COVID-19 Grief and Bereavement Service:

The ACGB is funded by the Commonwealth Government to provide Australia wide grief and/or bereavement support and counselling for Aged Care residents, home care recipients, carers, families, community workers or residential direct care staff affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of lockdown. 

No fees are charged nationally, for COVID-19 Aged Care support services.
