Launch of a new service delivery model for regional Victoria

1 June 2016

The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) has decided to vary the way that it provides support for bereaved Victorians. From July 1st ACGB will provide support to those living outside of Metropolitan Melbourne through an innovative telehealth bereavement service. These new arrangements will see for the first time, irrespective of where people live, bereaved Victorians being able to access specialist bereavement counselling using their telephone, computer or mobile device.

These new telehealth services will be provided from the Centre’s Mulgrave office and will be provided in addition to the face-to-face counselling and bereavement support groups which are already provided by ACGB from its Mulgrave location. From June 30th ACGB will close our offices outside of Mulgrave but will continue to have a presence in these regions through a new outreach model, which will see ACGB clinicians undertaking a range of clinical, networking and capacity building activities throughout these five regions.

This reorganisation of bereavement counselling services will strengthen ACGB’s capacity to provide sustainable and innovative bereavement support to all Victorian’s who are in need of additional specialist support with their bereavement experiences. If you have any questions about these new service arrangements please feel free to call ACGB on (03) 9265 2100 or email
