Media Release - Australian-first resource aims to better understand grief and bereavement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures

We are pleased to announce that the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) has launched a new resource that helps practitioners better understand the varying cultural practices around bereavement and grief in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Developed with input and guidance from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the Guide, 'Working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Grief and Bereavement': A Resource for Workers,  explores a number of important Indigenous cultural practices when it comes to dealing with grief and bereavement, and is designed to assist professionals in providing more discerning services and support within that important cultural context.

There has been strong demand for such a resource for some time and we are pleased to share a link to the Guide. We have also attached a copy of the Media Release.
