Communicating the experience of loss and acknowledging the memories of a loved one.

Grief is a personal journey, which tends to be neither well understood nor supported beyond the occasion of the funeral in our Western culture.

The Sympathy Pin was created as a signifier to support anyone  experiencing a journey through grief and loss and provide a symbol that would engender community support and empathy.

The simple act of putting the Sympathy Pin on at the start of the day, or whenever the grieving person feels the need, serves as a personal reminder that grieving and giving oneself time to grieve is both normal and
