Physical, Psychological & Spiritual Processes of Death (QLD)
Type: Workshop
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Presenter: Libby Cooper (bio below)

Workshop Outline: The physical, psychological and spiritual processes of death

Working with people who are dying can be an incredibly challenging aspect of the role of practitioners. Witnessing people at their most vulnerable can often leave practitioners feeling overwhelmed, helpless and uncomfortable. This workshop focuses on the physical, psychological and spiritual process of dying and the subsequent support needs of both the patient and their loved ones.

The workshop is aimed at all professionals who are working with people who are dying such as counsellors, psychologists, palliative care workers, pastoral care workers, social workers, nurses and doctors.

Learning outcomes

At the conclusion of this workshop participants will be able to:

- Understand the physical, psychological and spiritual processes of death and dying
- Identify and understand the psychological and spiritual needs of the dying
- Develop psychological, spiritual and practical strategies to better support someone who is dying or grieving
- Gain overall confidence in supporting the dying or grieving
