Establishing and Facilitating a Bereavement Support Group: A Practical Approach

Discussion and support groups can help give a real sense of understanding, acceptance, support and hope, because everyone else in the group has had a similar experience and understands the magnitude of what has happened and what others are going through. People share experiences that are not readily understood by others who have not been through these experiences.

The specific study and experience of group dynamics and group process is essential for any person interested in working in a group context. The focus of this program is on establishing, maintaining and evaluating groups for a specific bereaved population.
